UPPCoFlo
High-rate clarifier
Coagulation · flocculation · lamella settling, integrated
Conventional coagulation, flocculation and settling integrated into one structure through an optimised hydraulic model and high-concentration sludge recirculation.
Colloids and suspended solids in the raw water are destabilised by the coagulant under controlled hydraulic shear and form floc. In the flocculation zone, controlled agitation and plug flow bring that floc together with polymer and recirculated sludge into a dense, readily settling floc. The floc settles in the clarification zone, and the supernatant passes through the lamella section, which captures the fine carry-over.
The UPP-Co-Tube draft-tube system holds the flocculation performance of the system.
Removes suspended solids, total phosphorus, organics and heavy metals. Compact, tolerant of load variation, and quick to restart.
Without any ballast media, a lamella-zone surface loading of 28.98 m³/m²·h has been verified in long-term plant operation.
Performance
- Effluent SS ≤ 10 mg/L
- Effluent TP ≤ 0.5 mg/L
- Settling-zone surface loading 10–30 m³/m²·h
- Sludge drawn off at high concentration — no thickener needed
Typical applications
- Wastewater pre-treatment
- Tertiary treatment
- First-flush stormwater
- Heavy metal and hardness removal
With powdered activated carbon
Can be combined with powdered activated carbon for additional organics removal.
